AN ORCHARD WITH A “HIGH ENVIRONMENTAL VALUE” LABEL
Despite already being officially recognized as ” eco-friendly orchards “, Blue Whale producers have chosen to have their orchards and farms audited in order to benefit from a new French certification guaranteeing their growing commitment to ecological transition and responsible agriculture.
Environmental certifications for farms address the need to identify farms that are committed to particularly environmentally friendly approaches.
Level 3, qualified as “High Environmental Value”, is based on result indicators relating to biodiversity, phytosanitary strategy, fertilization and irrigation management.
In 2020, 6,500 hectares of Blue Whale orchards were awarded the “High Environmental Value” label.
